What is Marketplace Naija?

Marketplace Naija is a Nigerian online classifieds platform where individuals and businesses can buy, sell, or promote new and used goods and services across a wide range of categories—safely and easily.

Is Marketplace Naija free to use?

Yes! Posting standard ads and browsing listings is free. However, optional paid features (like boosting or featuring your ad) are available for sellers who want more visibility.

Account & Registration

Do I need an account to use Marketplace Naija?

You can browse ads without an account. But to post ads, use Buy Direct, or contact sellers, you must register for a free account.

How do I create an account?

Click the "Sign Up" button on the homepage. Enter your name, email/phone number, and create a password. You'll receive a confirmation email or OTP to verify your account.

I forgot my password. How can I reset it?

Click "Forgot Password" on the login page and follow the instructions. A reset link or OTP will be sent to your registered email or phone.

For Buyers

How do I buy an item on Marketplace Naija?

You can:

  • Contact the seller directly via chat or phone
  • Use the Buy Direct feature for eligible listings, where we securely hold payment until you confirm item delivery

What is "Buy Direct"?

Buy Direct is our safe transaction method. You pay into Marketplace Naija's secure system. We release the funds to the seller only after you receive and confirm the item.

What if I don't receive the item?

If you used Buy Direct, you can file a dispute. We'll investigate and issue a refund if the seller fails to deliver or the item is not as described.

For Sellers

How do I post an ad?

  • Log into your account
  • Click "Post Ad"
  • Choose a category, upload photos, write a title and description, and set your price
  • Submit the ad for review and publication

Can I promote my ads?

Yes! You can Boost or Feature your ad to get more visibility. Promotional packages are available in your dashboard after posting.

How do I get paid using Buy Direct?

Once a buyer pays through Buy Direct and confirms they've received the item, Marketplace Naija releases the funds to your payout bank account. Go to profile – Settings – Payments, to add your bank account details.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept:

  • Debit/Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Verve)
  • Bank Transfers
  • USSD

All payments are processed securely through trusted Nigerian payment gateways.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are possible for:

  • Duplicate or failed transactions
  • Ad promotion errors
  • Unsuccessful Buy Direct transactions (if proven)

Is it safe to use Marketplace Naija?
